Thought you might enjoy this recently digitized book about a houseboat adventure from Chicago to New Orleans in 1900. http://www2.latech.edu/~bmagee/louisiana_anthology/texts/waugh/waugh--houseboat_book.html
Fishy goings-on in my Nyet.
I too have a bream, or will have when it gets here!

Nothing yet with halibut in it?
Gosh so many fish names ... sole, carp, minnow, cod, plus stuff like shrimp, lobster, limpet etc.
There's something fishy going on with the plaice layout. The sideways feeling of it actually makes me feel like I am a plaice. But I feel like I'm missing the irony somehow, though getting a whiff of it...
Is there much chance of a customer getting scrod on Club Orlov?
The general public will feel so confounded by these.
Marine puns! Thanks Nathan, I was wondering why the plaice was the only one oriented that way.
I started to think maybe you could even add to the joke, by putting both "YOUR PLAICE" and "OR MINE" on the same side. But if you do that, those pesky words fuse back together into the single sentence they came from. Which ceases to be a good metaphor. (Except for one-eyed plaices.)
