The Imperial Collapse Playbook

[По-русски] [In italiano]

Some people enjoy having the Big Picture laid out in front of them—the biggest possible—on what is happening in the world at large, and I am happy to oblige. The largest development of 2014 is, very broadly, this: the Anglo-imperialists are finally being forced out of Eurasia. How can we tell? Well, here is the Big Picture—the biggest I could find. I found it thanks to Nikolai Starikov and a recent article of his.

Now, let's first define our terms. By Anglo-imperialists I mean the combination of Britain and the United States. The latter took over for the former as it failed, turning it into a protectorate. Now the latter is failing too, and there are no new up-and-coming Anglo-imperialists to take over for it. But throughout this process their common playbook had remained the same: pseudoliberal pseudocapitalism for the insiders and military domination and economic exploitation for everyone else. Much more specifically, their playbook always called for a certain strategem to be executed whenever their plans to dominate and exploit any given country finally fail. On their way out, they do what they can to compromise and weaken the entity they leave behind, by inflicting a permanently oozing and festering political wound. “Poison all the wells” is the last thing on their pre-departure checklist.

• When the British got tossed out of their American Colonies, they did all they could, using a combination of import preferences and British “soft power,” to bolster the plantation economy of the American South, helping set it up as a sort of anti-United States, and the eventual result was the American Civil War.

• When the British got tossed out of Ireland, they set up Belfast as a sort of anti-Ireland, with much blood shed as a result.

• When the British got tossed out of the Middle East, they set up the State of Israel, then the US made it into its own protectorate, and it has been poisoning regional politics ever since. (Thanks to Kristina for pointing this out in the comments.)

• When the British got tossed out of India, they set up Pakistan, as a sort of anti-India, precipitating a nasty hot war, followed by a frozen conflict over Kashmir.

• When the US lost China to the Communists, they evacuated the Nationalists to Taiwan, and set it up as a sort of anti-China, and even gave it China's seat at the United Nations.

The goal is always the same: if they can't have the run of the place, they make sure that nobody else can either, by setting up a conflict scenario that nobody there can ever hope to resolve. And so if you see Anglo-imperialists going out of their way and spending lots of money to poison the political well somewhere in the world, you can be sure that they are on their way out. Simply put, they don't spend lots of money to set up intractable problems for themselves to solve—it's always done for the benefit of others.

Fast-forward to 2014, and what we saw was the Anglo-imperialist attempt to set up Ukraine as a sort of anti-Russia. They took a Slavic, mostly Russian-speaking country and spent billions (that's with a “b”) of dollars corrupting its politics to make the Ukrainians hate the Russians. For a good while an average Ukrainian could earn a month's salary simply by turning up for an anti-Russian demonstration in Kiev, and it was said that nobody in Ukraine goes to protests free of charge; it's all paid for by the US State Department and associated American NGOs. The result was what we saw this year: a bloody coup, and a civil war marked by numerous atrocities. Ukraine is in the midst of economic collapse with power plants out of coal and lights going off everywhere, while at the same time the Ukrainians are being drafted into the army and indoctrinated to want to go fight against “the Muscovites.”

But, if you notice, things didn't go quite as planned. First, Russia succeeded in making a nice little example of self-determination in the form of Crimea: if it worked for Kosovo, why can't it work for Crimea? Oh, the Anglo-imperialist establishment wishes to handle these things on a case-by-case basis, and in this case it doesn't approve? Well, that would be a double-standard, wouldn't it? World, please take note: when the West talks about justice and human rights, that's just noise.

Next, the Russians provided some amount of support, including weapons, volunteers and humanitarian aid, to Ukraine's eastern provinces of Donetsk and Lugansk, which declared themselves People's Republics and successfully fought Ukraine's so-called “anti-terrorist operation” to a stalemate and an imperfect, precarious cease-fire. Very significantly, Russia absolutely refused to get involved militarily, has withheld official recognition of these republics, has refused to consider breaking up Ukraine, and continues to insist on national dialogue and a peace process even as the bullets fly. According to Putin, Ukraine must be maintained as “a contiguous political space.” Thus, the Russians have responded to the Anglo-imperialists' setting up of an anti-Russia in the form of Ukraine by setting up an anti-Ukraine in the form of DPR and LPR, thereby shunting the Anglo-imperialist attempt to provoke a war between Ukraine and Russia into a civil war within Ukraine.

You might also notice that the Anglo-imperialists have been getting very, very angry. They have been doing everything they can to vilify Russia, comparing Putin to Hitler and so on. This is because for them it's all about the money, and they didn't get what they paid for. What the Anglo-imperialists were paying for in corrupting Ukraine's politics was a ring-side seat at a fight between Ukraine and Russia. And what they got instead is a two-legged stool at a bar-room brawl between Eastern and Western Ukraine. Eastern Ukraine accounts for a quarter of the Ukrainian economy, produces most of the coal that had formerly kept the lights on in the rest of the country, and contains most of the industry that had made Ukraine an industrialized nation. Western Ukraine is centered on the unhappy little rump of Galicia, where the political soil is so fertile for growing neo-Nazis. So, paying billions to watch a bunch of Ukrainians fight each other inconclusively while Russia gets to play peacemaker is not what the Anglo-imperialists wanted, and they are absolutely livid about it. If they don't get the war they paid for PDQ, they will simply cut their losses, pack up and leave, and then do what they always do, which is pretend that the country in question doesn't exist, which, the way things are going in the Ukraine, it barely will.

Note that leaving, and then pretending that a place doesn't exist, is something the Anglo-imperialists have been doing a lot lately. When they left Iraq, they did succeed in setting up a sort of anti-Iraq in the form of Iraqi Kurdistan, but that all blew up in their face. Their attempts to set up an anti-Syria or an anti-Libya died in their infancy, and they don't seem to have any plan at all with regard to Afghanistan, unless it is to repeat every single blunder the Soviets made there as carefully and completely as possible.

What's more, it's starting to look like they are about to get kicked out of Eurasia altogether. Most of the major Eurasian players—China, Russia, India, Iran, much of Central Asia—are cementing their ties around the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, to which the United States isn't even admitted as an observer. As for the European Union, the current crop of EU politicians is very much bought and will be paid for upon retirement by the Anglo-imperialists, but the only reason they are still in power is that there are lots of older voters in Western Europe, and older people tend to cling to what they know even after it stops working—for them or, especially, for their kids. If it was up to the young people, the Anglo-imperialists would face open rebellion. In fact, the trends in voting patterns show that their departure from the region is a matter of time.

Here is a preview of possible coming attractions. On their way out, the Anglo-imperialists will of course try to set up an anti-Europe, and the obvious choice for that is Britain. Of all the European nations, it is the most heavily manipulated by their Anglo cousins from across the pond. It would take minimal effort for them to hurt Britain economically, then launch a propaganda campaign to redirect the blame for the bad economy toward the continent. They wouldn't even have to hire translators for their propaganda—a simple “spelling-chequer” (or whatever) would suffice. And so, to make sure that their efforts to provoke a large-scale, hugely destructive, festering conflict between Britain and Europe fail, Europe would do well to set up an anti-Britain within Britain.

And the obvious choice for an anti-Britain is of course Scotland, where the recent independence referendum failed because of... the recalcitrance of older voters. A dividing line between the Anglo empire and Eurasia running through the English Channel/La Manche would be a disaster for Europe and moving it somewhere west of Bermuda would pose a formidable challenge. On the other hand, suppose that line ran along Hadrian's Wall, with the traditionally combative and ornery Scots, armed with the remnants of North Sea oil and gas, aligning themselves with the Continent, while England remains an ever-so-obedient vassal of the Anglo-imperialists? That would reduce the intercontinental conflict to what Americans like to call a “pissing contest”: not worth the high price of admission. Yes, there would be some strong words between the two sides, and some shoving and shouting outside of pubs, and even some black eyes and loose teeth should diplomacy fail, but that should be the extent of the damage. That I see as the best-case outcome.

So that's the big picture I see heading into 2015, which I am sure will be a most tumultuous year. Not to make a prediction as to timing (don't worry, you won't ever get one out of me!) but 2015 could be the year the Anglo-imperialist franchise finally starts shutting down in obvious ways. We know it will have to shut down eventually, because failing all the time is not conducive to its survival. The bonus question is, what sort of anti-America will these parasites set up inside America before they abandon their host and scatter to their fortified compounds in undisclosed locations around the world? Or will they not even bother, and just provoke a war of all against all?

I would think that they would at least try to leverage their expensively engineered red/blue divide within the United States. This fake cultural/political divide, with all the pseudoliberal/pseudoconservative indoctrination and university- and church-based brainwashing that put it in place, cost them a pretty penny. It was engineered to produce the appearance of choice at election-time while making sure that there isn't any. But could it not be pressed into service in some more extreme manner? How about leveraging it to organize some sort of rabidly homophobic racist fundamentalist separatist enclave somewhere down south? Or perhaps one somewhere in the north, where zoophilia is de rigeur while heterosexual intercourse requires a special permit from a committee stocked with graduates in women's studies? Now, fight, you idiots! Don't you see how well that could work in practice? Would they waste such a nice opportunity to set up a system of controlled mayhem? I think not!

I leave all of that up to you to imagine.

Happy New Year!

I doubt with oil 60 bucks a barrel Scotland has the funds to split. North Sea is effectively on life support at these prices. The Scotish Nationalists need 110 dollars plus to appear remotely plausible. If Scotland leaves UK all financial sector entities in Edinburgh relocate south and penury begins for the Picts.

You didn't mention anything about a nuclear war, and I hope you're right. Several other bloggers, journalists and intellectuals are concerned though, including Noam Chomsky, Paul Craig Roberts, Ron Paul (ok, he's a politician), John Pilger, Steve Lendman and others I can't remember.

The Russians are apparently spending a lot of money upgrading their nuclear weapons. Let's hope that it's for deterrence, which is based on questionable logic in the face of what happens to the earth itself when a bunch of nuclear weapons go off.

Let's also hope that you're correct about the imminent failure of the US empire. I'm way sick of this "empire of illusion" anyway.

Let's also hope that when the US empire collapses, China doesn't try and exercise any sort of unpleasant hegemony in the power vacuum that is created.

One interesting thing I recall reading about the failure of the Scottish independence movement at the ballot-box was that it wasn't just older voters that favored staying in the United Kingdom more than younger voters, but also women more than men. Perhaps Scottish independence can be achieved if its proponents can find a way to make the prospect more attractive to Scotland's female population? One development I can imagine happening should Scotland break free is its forming a federal Gaelic Union with Ireland. Despite some significant differences in national temperament, the two countries are more alike than they are different!

Now, as for creating an America divided along red state/ blue state lines, there's a problem with that. Thanks to the evil billionaires that have bought our Federal and state governments, the contrived "red-blue" divide now extends down to the city-and-county level of many states. Here in Wisconsin, whenever the newspaper linked here runs a state-politics-related news story, including this one, you can pretty much count on the comments section becoming every bit as ugly a shrieking-match as any episode of the infamous "Jerry Springer Show".

And it really is a contrived divide because the vast majority of those identifying with the "blue" side of the divide have effectively insulated themselves from the realization that the goddamn Democratic Party took a fucking dive yet again in the state's most recent political pissing-contest. The state's
Democratic politicos did so by imposing the weakest possible candidate for governor on the party's voters in a very top-down way. The state Democratic primary for that race was a choice between their hand-picked candidate and a clearly demented novelty-candidate. Is it any wonder why American liberals have such an intractable reputation as codependent losers and silly nincompoops that they consistently refuse to figure out when they're being royally played?

Furthermore, I'm very disillusioned with a state I use to love dearly that it allowed itself to be so easily manipulated right down to the most intimate grassroots level (seriously, couples are divorcing over this crap) by what Ran Prieur calls "the giant blocks of money". I guess it only serves to illustrate the extent to which this country has richly earned its coming place in the dustbin of history. Fuck Wisconsin and fuck the United States of America.

Sorry, I had to get that out of my system.

First, your illustration could have been easily inspired by William Stringfellow & his observation that the Power called 'death' will continue to be in charge of the US (or any nation, for that matter) no matter how many actual wars peter out. A change in that fact would require a general spiritual awakening.

Second, 'divide & conquer' as a tactic goes back to the Romans. The US does it as a strategic move because [I suppose] "You never know for whom the plot will bubble next"-- That is, it sets up options for future opportunism, even if currently losing.

The stirring up of factional tension within the US -- continues to do its job, keeping folks happily mad at everyone except "that guy with the sack, going out the window! See?!" while 'that guy' can probably come right back in, still wearing the Santa suit, and make off with the burglar alarm.

A committee to decide who got to do hetrosexual 'interviews' was a very successful innovation at Oneida, where the main constraints were 1)have spiritual intent 2) don't squirt and 3) don't get too attached. The system only broke down when the aging founder started requesting too many Sex Appreciation for Beginners interviews, which were getting steadily less popular with the kids: "Oooh! Yuck!"

Hi Dmitry, thanks for sharing this. I wonder if most people in the world outside the US understand that we the people are powerless and all this imperialist well-poisoning is done without our consent? In other words, do folks in Eurasia realize that the Establishment and the People are two different things? Also, I disagree with the idea that the red/blue divide is false. ‘Albion's Seed’ by DH Fischer explains why it’s very real, and how the notion that the US is ‘one nation indivisible’ has never been true. I see us devolving into something along the lines of Joel Garreau’s ‘Nine Nations of North America’, but how orderly a transition it proves to be is an open question.

I know this sounds crazy, but you might look at it the other way as well: the acute, divorce-ready red/blue schism has everyone so disgusted that any party who is positive and stands for something reasonable will win in a sudden landslide.

They've run negative + pointless issues so long that they've forgotten what people really vote for is something positive they can believe in. Although now proven to be entirely lies, that's why people voted for Obama.

Poisoning the well so obviously could mean you've alerted people they must find a new well.

This was indeed a great Big Picture analysis of the present world. The USA once was a very democratic place, with real political parties with different programs for America. The last 25 years have wiped out any real politics, and now the elite money powers do control the whole show. Obama was hand picked by the Democratic Leadership Council, the Corporate Arm of the Democratic Party. Since corporate power owns both parties now, they decide who will run for elections, and both candidates must be corporate and military industrial complex candidates. No hope no change.
As for the world, YES, Ukraine has made clear the Anglo Zionist agenda. The Nazi movement in Lvov has been nurtured for over 20 years by western money and agents. Including Mossad and CIA. The take down of Ukraine was masterful, using the Nazi legions to carry it out, and mystery snipers to seal the deal. The West then jumped fully to the Kiev Junta support, fascist or not, these are now Washington's agents in every sense.
The East Ukraine acted as any threatened race would, they banded together in defense. Russia perhaps has not given as much support as is warranted, in their misguided attempts to curry favor with the EU. But Putin now seems to have revealed he is sick of the EU leaders, he has discovered that EU leaders are Washington DC's agents, and some, like the German Leader are CIA agents for real. In fact, Ukraine's Junta has several CIA agents in their membership. Some have been paid agents for over 20 years.
This Spring or sooner, the USA will launch a heavy attack on Donetsk, meant to end the "anti-Ukraine". This event will test Putin, Putin would be wise to arm the Donbass with the modern weapons it's needs, because if America's Spring attack succeeds, then it becomes a direct Kiev Nazi Junta Army facing the Russia border. Not something Russia needs or wants.

not entirely correct, seat wasn't given after PRC taken over China

China under KMT, joined UN on 1945. KMT got booted to TW on 1949 and retained the seat until 1971 after PRC's pressure on UN

Based on past experience, I don't think it is realistic to expect America (meaning the governing elite) to just fade away with a few symbolic parting shot. If they feel they are going down, they will make *everything* go down in such a way that they have the best chance of getting up first when the dust settles. That's what seems to be happening: America appears to be decivilizing its potential competition before some major expected event.

You are assuming that the people in the UK will go along with US plans. Remember that we didn't fall for the Syrian chemical false flag attack, forced parliament to vote down military intervention in Syria and hence scupper US plans. You may think that you (US) are exceptional but we humour you. Ultimately we are a small but pragmatic nation. We'll jump ship and align with Russia/China if it is too our advantage.

Great article by the way. Just putting a case way we in the UK may not go along with it.

Let's not forget the impending race war that US media have promoted for the past several years. Their incessant appeals to "justice" belie the actual facts of the Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and Eric Garner cases; also ignored by the media are the acts of black retributive violence against whites, such as the murders of several white joggers, the Bosnian who was hammered to death in St. Louis recently, and the cheering by black onlookers at the assasination of two NYPD patrolmen. None of it makes sense unless viewed as preparation for leaving the US in chaos when the elites desert to their next host, from which they will once again attempt world domination.

The British won the War of 1812 and the U.S. signed a peace deal that gave them access to the British financial system and ports around the world. Andrew Jackson, who inflicted a great defeat at New Orleans, did so after the peace was signed. After he became president he scuttled the central bank that the British had imposed--leading the British to play the Civil War card. But the Anglo-American term does not seem to adequately reflect other considerations involved in both the deterioration of the British and now American empires--the Zionist component. Both empires have made numerous self-destructive moves at the behest of this "other" power bloc.

Another cracker from Dimitri

My only beef would be that, in an otherwise masterly canter through the last century or so of geo-politics, the word "Jew" is entirely absent. As always in these matters, it is the elephant in the room that everyone pretends isn't there.

I suggest that it is the vast over-representation of specifically Jewish interests in Dimitri's 'Anglo-Imperialists' that is the key to understanding what is transpiring over Russia/Ukraine. The plain fact is that specifically Jewish interests have a similar preponderance in the corridors of Russian power politics as they do in those of the 'Anglo Imperialists'. My sense is that those interests have no-zero-zilch loyalty to the concepts of western democracy or the nation state of their domicile. In other words, they are likely to be engineering events such that, whoever is the notional loser in this developing catastrophe, global Jewish power per-se will be its principal beneficiary. A re-run of the WWI-II continuum in fact.

Think about that and ponder why it is that to so-much-as broach the subject in Establishment-mediated forums is to be condemned as that logical and semantic absurdity - an Antisemite.

Excellent article (like usually).

I'd like to amend some thoughts though.

I do not think that the usa will use the uk for the purpose described. For one, the uk is not simply a vassal nor necessarily obedient. More importantly though there are two "better" candidates: poland and Germany.

As for poland it's simple. It has already been used multiple times, for instance at the beginning of WW2 but also at the beginning of the Sowjet downfall.
And Germany is both used to being an obedient vassal and immensely important for the usa as Germany is the core of the eu, and of high interest to Russia.

Furthermore, the current terror attack in ukraine is not only directed against Russia but also against the eu. Against the eu because the eu is of vital importance to the usa but at the same time the eu risks (from usa's perspective) to become too pwerful and to finally break free of the usa.

Considering this both poland and Germany are also geographically more suitably located. Set either one on fire (or even both) and you can use them both to blackmail or strangle or even kill the eu and its member states and make sure that Russia gets hurt too.

@ Eduardo Martinez:

Hi Ed! In case your latino name means that you're a recent settler in Britain, can I just point out that the island is home to at least four, arguably five ancient peoples/nations. There is NO sole British nation. Speaking of that fiction is an insolent habit of the English-raj class, and their tame mediawhores. The reality is that Scotland wants out of the ukstate - and will get it soon; Cymru has a strong nationalist undercurrent, with potential to grow very large very quickly when conditions encourage it; and there's even a small but long persisting independence-from-England movement in Kernow - which the insolents call an 'English county'.

Add to that a substantial - and again potentially much larger - body of English commoners who are sick to death of the raj, their attitudes, their constant ripping off of the common Brits, let alone their old, old lifestyle of armed robbery, extortion and fraud all around the rest of the world.

Potentially, these commoners will happily follow a true progressive mass movement in England, when it appears; when conditions compel it, that is.

Note, though, that EKIP, the English Kingdom Independence Party (inaccurately called UKIP, though they have about zero following outside of England, and even their mainly in the south) isn't a radical candidate. From the way that the mediawhores have been stroking and encouraging Farage's racist, not-so-crypto-fascist clowns, it's clear that they fit the pattern that Dmitry's describing, as the well-poisoning here in Britain which will be used to generate chronic suspicion and hostility between England and continental Europe, if the US imperial gangsters' English-raj under-gangsters can get that to happen.

I've considered for some time that both Scotland and Cymru need to leapfrog over not just the Paedominster (London) rule, but over Brussels too, and make direct overtures to Russia/China to be members of the Eurasian Customs Union; and to have some sort of gold-backed currency arrangement with the Union too.

Sentimental English people will hold onto their pound, until it's been reduced to something approaching the status of the Kiev-junta hryvnia, and will then begin to think more soberly about a similar arrangement with the Customs Union. I expect England en masse to wake up last. But, otoh, the English-raj, who have always been crafty spivs on the make, under their Public School polish, may well spot which way the long-term wind is blowing, and thus ditch 'the cousins' across the ocean; ditch the 'undying' friends-of-Israel tosh, and start making overtures on their own behalf to Moscow. Ca-moron has, in fact, already tapped China for some scraps of help-out aid just recently. He may be too stupid to understand what's happening himself; but those of the rajistas who own him and pull his strings are more awake, I think. And they have no loyalty to anything beyond their own privileges and wealth.

By that time, or sooner, I expect Germany, and therefore a steady trickle of other deserters, will have broken free from the gangsters across the ocean who have stolen its 'safe-kept' gold, and have then bullied it into shooting itself in the Merkel-side foot over former-Ukraine, and will be getting realistic about cordial relations with its - genuinely essential - Russian neighbours, and with the Customs Union, and or course with the New Silk Road, which on its Western end obviously terminates naturally in Berlin.

All this as the US empire's tottering card-houses begin to delapidate at an increasingly alarming rate, accelerating as it the US is into its own - considerably worse and less recoverable - version of the collapse of the USSR.

Jacob Gittes said...

Contrary to Mr. Kunstler's reflexive defense of Israel, it is hard not to notice that Israel has devolved into a real apartheid state; that it is accelerating its slow-motion genocide against the Palestinians by depriving them of water and electricity, while maneuvering to steal the Palestinians water and mineral rights; that it is acting as the attack dog of the US in fomenting instability around the Middle East - the "chaos" strategy o the AngloImperialists in action.

Furthermore, what could be more ludicrous than using 2000-plus year old religious documents, stories, and myths to justify the takeover and ethnic cleansing of someone else's land? Imagine a group of Celts in the USA trying to invade England based on the writings of Merlin. It's really that absurd. The fact that it has been made acceptable to majorities of Europeans and Americans is simply a testament to the power of propaganda.
Regardless, Mr. Kunstler: Israel is doomed, as John Michael Greer himself has stated (one of your recent guests).
It would be nice if just once you showed a slightly balanced analysis of Israel's policies.

@NihilObstat " at the same time the eu risks (from usa's perspective) to become too pwerful and to finally break free of the usa." - I disagree EUs to be coming too powerful for anybody, while I can't see enough instruments for that. EU is very strongly import energy dependent as a whole and while it has some excellent technologies and industry I don't see any real future blossoming or regrowth to happen in EU. It is coming down quite soon and quite rapidly. I don't know if it's going to happen, but I see only very special use for europeans as a whole to go to a war on behalf of the other.

Otherwise it's mostly a too much energy and resource wasting territory which is coming to be harm for those who want still stay high and in power.

- Russia is a special partner who have a mutual benefits with EU. And as so the current policies in EU are absolute madness. With these policies EU is coming with huge speed to be a wasteland. It has still some important resources e.g. water, but in current policy it's also not going to become for any benefit for EU citizens.

For the power (also the EU core) the problem is us, normal EU citizens. That has been seen for 20 years. We are the problem. We are in the same time getting too much money and consuming too little. We have too big demands (that's a fact!) and standards for everything. I know there could be real will to give in of those demands but nobody who matters is giving any data to make any sense to do it. For average citizen. - In the top there's a huge and illusive default of ever growing economy and maniac consumption of things, services, luxuries, everything. There is a almost 100% concensus of that. - In a huge fossile energy import country like Finland there's going to come very harsh times. Times of hitting the wall of real limits of growth.

Re nuclear threat, again, with the appointment of Ashton Carter, it is no longer just a conversation. And it has been rumoured for a while too. No wonder many informed people are concerned

But what can we do? As opposed to Chomsky, I don't believe that we, people, can change anything.

This was a very nice panoramic view of the recent history. The pattern is, indeed, clear.

Happy New Year, Dmitry! May all your plans come to fruition and may you sell as many of your books and essays as possible.

I look forward to more articles of this nature.

Dmitry, didn't you write an article a few years back about your views on Anglo-Saxon culture - the top-down class-war, endless conflict, constant indoctrination, etc...? If I'm remembering correctly, please re-post it. If there was never a unified article on the subject, please consider writing one.

It would be cool if there was some way to make past cluborlov posts searchable by topic. I'm not a code monkey so take this suggestion with a grain of salt, but I've wasted a lot of time hunting around things that I remember reading in order to show someone else.

Uh oh. Elfdring opened the Pandora's box of race. I'm sure there are any number of fingers right now hovering over keyboards, itching to respond!

Excellent summary of important trends.

The "anti-America" is already in place, has been since the 1670's. Around that time, Nathaniel Bacon led a mixed race army of blacks and white indentured farmers against the British in Virginia, burned Jamestown down, and drove the British out for months. When Governor Berkely came back to vanquish the revolution, he made sure that blacks and whites would never unite again by creating laws that pit blacks against whites. Racism is the "anti America" and operates today to keep the people down. Overcoming this is the essential step to freeing the people from the nihilists you describe so well.

"Fast-forward to 2014, and what we saw was the Anglo-imperialist attempt to set up Ukraine as a sort of anti-Russia. They took a Slavic, mostly Russian-speaking country and spent billions (that's with a “b”) of dollars corrupting its politics to make the Ukrainians hate the Russians."

Not exactly sure how it would take billions to make the Ukrainians hate the Russians. I lived in the Ukraine for a time as part of a Cold War student exchange. The Ukrainians did a fine job hating the Russians back then, too. It was pretty much *the* topic of conversation whenever we were alone with the locals. When a group of us foreign students were taken on an outing to the Monument to Russian-Ukrainian Friendship, our Ukrainian guide said that he was the only Ukrainian there and that was only there because he had to take us. He added that he was likely to be the only Ukrainian there that day, unless some drunk felt the urge to find a fitting place to piss.

I'm working my way through an article on Counterpunch re the effect that lower oil prices will have on the economy and I've come to the part where it visualizes the havoc that the lower price of oil will have on Britain.

http://www.counterpunch.org/2015/01/06/oil-price-blowback-is-putin-creating-a-new-world-order/

If this isn't part of some master plan (by implying that they have a "plan" I may be giving the genius' in charge more credit than they deserve) or will helping to destroy Britain's economy just be a nice side helping of chaos for one of Uncle Sam's "partners" when it comes time to lighten the load on this sinking ship of rats...
Or maybe Britain will just be more "collateral damage" in the US war against the planet.

@BEETLESWAMP Just for S&G I let Google (you know one of Ingsoc's best inventions for helping big brother fill his database folder on all of your evil thoughts) do the heavy work of finding a lot of Dmitry's good stuff by tryping in the keyords "CLUBORLOV" and "COLLAPSE".

Of course the subject of collapse is one of the most common topics here (and of course that's why WE are here too) and I should have been a trifle more specific by adding in another keyword or two....

But you get the idea.. I now have more CLUBORLOV articles concerning collapse stacked up in my inbox than I'll be able to read the rest of this month. "How does he find the time?"

Great article.

Normally, I wouldn't comment but I find Kunstler's stance quite ironic.

While he vehemently defends Israel, based on the historic persecution of Jews, he has no qualms whatsoever to denigrate the African Americans in the US as a whole.

@Patrick
There is really no debate on whether Blacks in the US are subject to harsher treatment by the police and the judicial system. They are

The facts are stark and actually allow a very harsh judgment on whether there is really freedom and equality for all ethnic groups in the US.

Attached below is a link that provides the hard numbers and statistical evidence. It shows that blacks are more often arrested, are more often charged, and get longer prison sentences than whites for the same offenses. The article discusses the issues of the war on drugs.

So, are Blacks discriminated against and used as cannon fodder for the for-profit US prison system?

Absolutely.

So Blacks have a right to be angry about the police, its methods and the way they are targeted.

Very informative, however I would add one thing: My view as a European is that the US has already set up an "anti-Europe" in the form of Russia. And seeing how willing the European governments hurt their economies by imposing sanctions "on" Russia, I would say the US was pretty successful.

Some other Anglo-American well-poisonings in no particular order: Vietnam qualifies as an "assist"; wouldn't South Africa in the Afrikaaner versus African sense; Angola would be an assist by funding war criminal Jonas Savimbi; would Biafra qualify [certainly the civil war in Congo has USUK fingerprints all over it; Rhodesia was a near miss; the Koreas; not as clean as the Ireland, etc. No mention of Canada which until the 1840s was a potential war site with the US. I don't claim this is anything more than draft. Hopefully not a 'daft' draft. Cheers. As an American national I look forward to the collapse of the empire and a return to a military that is only concerned with the Canadian and Mexican borders and may number about 20,000.

"But could it not be pressed into service in some more extreme manner? How about leveraging it to organize some sort of rabidly homophobic racist fundamentalist separatist enclave somewhere down south? Or perhaps one somewhere in the north, where zoophilia is de rigeur while heterosexual intercourse requires a special permit from a committee stocked with graduates in women's studies? Now, fight, you idiots! Don't you see how well that could work in practice? Would they waste such a nice opportunity to set up a system of controlled mayhem? I think not!"
