The
2009 IPPY Awards have awarded my Reinventing Collapse silver in the Current Events category. The IPPYS are for independent publishers, with over 4000 entries each year in 65 categories. They don’t necessarily garner much media attention; they tend to look more at the big literary prizes. I am tied with Pat Murpy's Plan C. These are both New Society titles.

Congratulations Dmitry! All the best, Bridget
Congrats, Dmitry, and thanks to alerting us to the IPPY Awards in the process.
I'm reserving the Utilitopy Award for your "Kollapse-kraft Sharpie How-to Guide" article :-)
Congratulations Dmitry!
Well done.
Two thumbs up!
Congratulations, Mr. Orlov!
It was an enjoyable read. Please consider writing another book.
Regards, FD
I don't really read a lot of books, but I read yours in just a couple of hours.
Thanks, and congratulations, from Norway! Keep up the good work, you're a gifted writer!
Congratulations! I found your book very informative and enjoyable to read. The best parts were how you brought personal stories to life instead of getting bogged down in charts and statistics. Please consider writing another book.
I'm using the book again this summer in my "Urbanization and Community" course. I'm excited to be doing so.
Congrats!
Congratulations on a very deserved award! I am glad that you are reestablishing radical humanism as a viable current of thought. Viable and strictly necessary for survival -- which gives it total relevance. Earlier radical humanists like Fromm and Illich would be proud of you. And I bet the spirit of Kropotkin would be proud, too. Keep it up!
Congratulations,
I look forward to your "DIY Sharpie How To" book

RIP Phil Bolger 1927-2009

Phil Bolger... he maintained his integrity all the way to the end.
I have a letter from him from a few months ago when I was inquiring about boat plans...
So sad to see Bolger go. Coincidentally, yesterday, while we were traversing Boston Harbor on our (then) motorized Bolger Tortoise Punt which I built from Payson's plans, the little 2.5hp 4-stroke fell off. The transom bracket, which was not part of his design, broke off with the motor. And so we rowed...
I know reading the 5 stages and then Reinventing Collapse sure influenced my life. I feel like I was struck by a bolt of lightning. My priorities have changed radically, and I feel like I am in a race against time to get some acres out in the country with an insulated Amish shack and the 10 years supply worth of freeze dried food I bought instead of that new Corvette. I feel Dmitry is doing us a life saving service. Thank you and keep updating us, hopefully another book
